In her Christmas Eve sermon, particularly geared for children, the rector talks about how we see Jesus like one of us. She reads a wonderful children’s Christmas story, The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey and then the sermon ends with one of the children singing a song about the diversity of images of baby Jesus in different countries.
Beginning March 8 we will have a Lenten program two days a week. Wednesday mornings in Lent we will focus on the prophetic call to ministry in the themes of Lent and ask questions like “how can I make a difference in today’s world?” We will use reflections by Dan Berrigan and Joan Chittister in a program named “The Prophet in You: Gifts for Prophecy and Transformation.” On Fridays, we will study the text and music of the Fauré Requiem. The class is from 10:30am to almost Noon, and optional Stations of the Cross are at noon.
