Reflecting on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, the Rector indicates that the season after the Epiphany is a time when we focus on the ministry of Jesus and the humanity of Jesus. And we see that humanity, not like our present day self proposed by the dominant culture, but as an alternative to that. Our role of following Jesus says those who would save their lives would lose them and those who lose their lives in his service, will find them. In this we see how we are to be servants of all. Jesus came to be our servant and we, too are to lose ourselves in the work of loving our neighbors.
