Today’s sermon is a departure from the lectionary for the Sundays after Pentecost to focus on this July 4 Day of Independence and we follow an historic liturgy from the first American Book of Common Prayer, 1789. Today’s sermon concerns the history of our country and of the Episcopal Church.
