May 16, 2010 by the Rector

Concluding the preaching series on Revelation, the Rector talks about how just as the early Christians of the churches in Asia Minor, to whom the Book of Revelation was written, waited for the Second Coming of Christ, so, too, we wait. We are a people waiting. While we wait, we want to be Christ’s servants to help bring about the completion of the kingdom of love, unity and justice he proclaimed. We work for that goal and also keep a vigil for the coming of the Spirit anew into our lives on Pentecost. In our vigil we pray the prayer of the Book of Revelation, the last words of the New Testament, “Come, Lord Jesus.”
