On Trinity Sunday, preachers always feel the need to “explain the Trinity,” God in three persons, and yet none of us understands the mystery of how God can be Creator, Redeemer (Jesus) and Spirit. Psalm 8 for the day helps us understand that our main mission is to praise this undefinable, unexplainable God for God’s awesome presence in our lives through the community of faith. God has not promised in trinity of persons to solve all of life’s mysteries, and problems. God has promised to go with us through this journey of life with all its ups and downs and to hold our hand, through another, as Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
