The great New Testament story of Zacchaeus the tax collector frames the sermon which focuses on how each of us is both “saint” and “sinner” (see Luke 19:1-10) and how Jesus chose to join the chief tax collector for supper. In that encounter Zacchaeus was changed and made amends for all his extortion. Let each of us offer to change as well. We are invited to find those hiding in their trees waiting for an invitation to come down and be a part of the Community of Faith and each of us is encouraged to seek out the lost and lonely.
